This Privacy Policy explains how your data is processed and protected when you use the Glimpse Android application. The terms “user” or “you” refer to a person who uses the Glimpse Android application (“App”), visits our website, or interacts with our social media (together, the “Services”). To use Glimpse on Android, you sign in with Google (via Google OAuth). We receive your basic profile information (such as your email address and name) to create and secure your account. Authentication and your account profile are managed through our cloud provider, Supabase.
When you create entries, your journal text, transcribed voice notes, tags, and any images you add are stored on your device and synced to your private account in our secure cloud database and storage (hosted by Supabase) so your journal is available across sessions and after reinstalling. Your content is associated with your account and is not publicly accessible. We do not sell or share your journal content, and we do not use it for advertising.
When you record a voice entry, the audio is sent securely to our transcription provider (OpenAI, via API) to convert your speech to text. The resulting transcription is saved to your entry. Audio is processed to generate the transcription and is not retained for training. For details, see OpenAI’s privacy terms at openai.com/policies.
If you use Glimpse’s AI features (such as insights, summaries/recaps, auto-titles, tags, cleanup, and chat), the relevant entry text is sent to our AI providers — OpenAI and Anthropic (Claude) — via API to generate a response. When accessed via these APIs, your inputs are processed in transit to generate a response and are not used to train their models per their API terms. When you use the App, we may receive anonymous usage and performance data (such as session activity and crash reports) through analytics tools including Mixpanel. These are used only to improve app performance and fix bugs. We do not use analytics for advertising.
Glimpse offers optional subscriptions (“Glimpse Premium”) processed through Google Play Billing, with subscription status managed via RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your credit card number, bank details, or full billing information — payments are handled by Google. We receive a purchase token and subscription status so we can unlock premium features for your account. All purchases are subject to Google Play’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. For refunds or payment issues, please contact Google Play.
If you contact us (via email or social media), we will receive any personal information you voluntarily provide (such as your name, email address, or social media handle). We use this information to respond to your questions or support requests. If you subscribe to updates, we may send you relevant messages about new features or tips. You can opt out at any time.
When you visit our website, basic anonymized analytics data may be collected (e.g., IP address, pages visited, time on site) to improve the user experience. We do not use tracking for ads or resell this data. If you interact with our official social media profiles (e.g., Instagram), we may receive public data such as your name or username, governed by that platform’s privacy policy.
Your account data and journal content are retained in your private account (hosted by Supabase) for as long as your account is active, so you can access your journal across devices and sessions. You can delete your entries within the App, and you can request full deletion of your account and associated content by contacting us. We retain limited support data (e.g., email messages) only as long as needed to fulfill support or legal obligations.
Glimpse is not directed to users under the age of sixteen (16), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If required by local law, you must meet the minimum age to use the App without parental consent.
